The ASUS PC Probe is a simple utility that monitors vital information in the computer such as fan rototations, voltages and temperature. Additionally, it gives system information such as hard disk space, memory usage, CPU type and processor speed. After installation, the application resides in the taskbar and provides audio warning through the PC speakers if certain thresholds such as temperature and voltage have been exceeded. If your system is overclocked, remember to raise the appropriate warning limits or face frequent warning pop-ups.

It’s open source, whin mean its F R E E a.k.a GRATIS OSes. U can find them easily by googling around. It’s not as “hard to learn” as u may think, although it’s not as easy as they (geeks) say. But nevertheless, theese are gr8 OSes, and i’m sure u’ll find them easy enough after the installation (works for me). Updates come regularly from their developer, just check their official sites for more.
“All u need bundle”, ready to work with, to play with, and more, that’s what i thought bout those Linux releases, and that’s just gr8, that’s all i need, and above all ITS FREE along with “most” of the apps they included.
What i recommend are :
UBUNTU 8.04 LTS
Ubuntu is a community developed, linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. It contains all the applications you need – a web browser, presentation, document and spreadsheet software, instant messaging and much more. Ubuntu is free software. Whether you use it at home, at school or at work Ubuntu contains all the applications you’ll ever need, from word processing and email applications, to web server software and programming tools.
And here are usefull packages
These UBUNTU ppl are very generous, they’ll give u guys FREE CD, you can purchase them for $0, all u need to have is patient, the discs take 6-xx weeks to be delivered to your location (at least that’s what i know). So, why dont u check out their official site
CentOS 5.2
CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. (CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork.) CentOS is free. CentOS is now accepting donations via PayPal, please click the button for more information.
CentOS is developed by a small but growing team of core developers. In turn the core developers are supported by an active user community including system administrators, network administrators, enterprise users, managers, core Linux contributors and Linux enthusiasts from around the world.
More of CentOS
FreeBSD
FreeBSD offers advanced networking, performance, security and compatibility features today which are still missing in other operating systems, even some of the best commercial ones.
The quality of FreeBSD combined with today’s low-cost, high-speed PC hardware makes FreeBSD a very economical alternative to commercial UNIX workstations. It is well-suited for a great number of both desktop and server applications.
Fedora 10 Alpha
Fedora Core is intended to be a logical upgrade path for previous users of Red Hat Linux whose needs are consistent with the objectives of the Fedora Project. It is a return to Red Hat’s roots; 2-3 releases per year, and freely-available downloads that can be called by name even when media containing those bits are sold by third parties (within the constraints of trademark guidelines).
SUSE Linux 10
SUSE LINUX Professional Novell provides everything today’s Linux user needs for home computing and computing-on-the-go. This product includes a Linux operating system plus dozens of essential integrated tools that showcase the latest that open source has to offer
There will be more, but it’ll take time to check all those links & put them all here, i’ll see what i can do. Meanwhile, enjoy your stay guys.
